Upcoming Acoustic Telemetry Workshop and Course
Acoustic Telemetry Workshop at GCFI, San Andres, Colombia
Join Keith Spafford as he discusses passive and active acoustic technology and how to use the equipment effectively. Potential topics include (but not limited to): Understanding Single Frequency Telemetry, Equipment Overview and Representative Deployments, Detection Performance and Range Limits, VEMCO User Environment (VUE) Software, VR2W Positioning System (VPS,) and Future Product Directions. Participants will help explore problems regarding deployment methods, experimental design, identifying unknown codes, data management, handling and analysis.

Aquatic Acoustic Telemetry Data Analysis Course (5 Days), Glasgow, Scotland
Acoustic telemetry has become increasingly popular as a method of choice for monitoring the movements and behaviour of aquatic animals globally. Increasingly smaller tags along with improvements in battery technology have allowed for tagging a wide variety of species and life stages, enabling monitoring of individuals as small as salmon smolts and as large as whale sharks for periods from 30 days to 10 years.
Receiver technology also continues to evolve and increasingly allows for data to be collected at finer spatial and temporal scales than ever before. In addition, with more and more acoustic diagnostics information available telemetry datasets are becoming richer, allowing more detailed analyses of system performance over time and more robust interpretation of animal detection data.
Join us for an interactive discussion on how to make the most of your telemetry study from proper equipment selection to setting up your study to data analysis.
