Minilog DOS Software Help |
|
|
|
VEMCO has moved to a Windows version of the Minilog software and no longer supports the DOS versions of the Minilog software. The new Windows software requires a new Windows PC interface which is included with the purchase of the software (the old reader will not work with the Windows software). For pricing information of the Windows Minilog software, please contact the sales department.
THE TWO MOST COMMON DOS MINILOG SOFTWARE ERROR MESSAGES:
1. "RUN TIME 200 ERROR"
Older versions of the Minilog DOS software were compiled before 300 MHz speed processors existed. If these older versions are run on faster computers (300 MHz clock speed or faster) this error will occur. The fix is to upgrade the latest version of the DOS Minilog software or purchase the Windows Minilog software.
2. "DISK ERROR OPERATION TERMINATED, DOS ERROR: 3 PATH NOT FOUND"
When the Minilog DOS software is downloading data from a Minilog the binary data must be written to a disk. Typically the data should be written to a folder or directory on the local hard drive. In the Minilog DOS software manual it is recommended that the software be installed on the local hard drive in its own folder or directory (C:\Minilog).
The most convenient place to put the data is in its own folder or directory in the Minilog folder or directory (C:\Minilog\Data). In order for the Minilog software to know where to write the binary data files you must enter the path to the data directory (C:\Minilog\Data in the example above) in the software. To do this, left click on the "FILE" pull down menu and select "Data Directory". Enter the path you have chosen. If the path in the "Data Directory" is wrong or if there are misspellings, the "DISK ERROR OPERATION TERMINATED, DOS ERROR: 3 PATH NOT FOUND" will occur.
