VR2W-180 kHz Receiver

New version of the VR2W is designed to operate with VEMCO’s new line of miniature acoustic tags

The VR2W-180 kHz receiver is cost effective, compact, easy to use, long-lasting and flexible, making it ideal for remote, long term monitoring of small fish species.

Juveniles, Smaller Fish, More Species
The VR2W-180 kHz is used with the new V6-180 kHz transmitter, a coded tag that is just 6mm in diameter. At only 0.5 grams in water, the V6 enables researchers to track and monitor smaller fish and a broader range of species than ever before! Note that the VR2W-180 kHz receiver cannot detect VEMCO’s 69 kHz transmitters.

Why 180 kHz Frequency?
Choosing the 180 kHz frequency enabled VEMCO to develop small, lightweight tags that would operate well in both salt and fresh water environments.

The VR2W-180 kHz operates with the VEMCO User Environment (VUE) PC Software. VUE PC Software for initialization, configuration and data upload from VEMCO receivers allows users to combine data from multiple receivers of varying types into a single integrated database. Studies using 69 kHz and 180 kHz tags can also be combined into one VUE database.

System requirements for the VR2W include the VEMCO User Environment (VUE) software and Windows XP SP2. Choose one of the following links for more detailed information on VUE software or to download the VR2W-180kHz product datasheet.
