VEMCO manufactures a complete line of receivers to detect signals from our ultrasonic coded and continuous transmitters. We design and manufacture receivers that will enable the researcher to conduct automated tracking studies, carry out real time field tracking, or collect detailed positioning data. Our receiver equipment includes:
Monitoring Receivers
- VR2W - submersible, single channel receiver with Bluetooth® wireless technology capable of identifying VEMCO coded transmitters.
- VR2W-180kHz - submersible, single channel receiver with Bluetooth® wireless technology capable of identifying VEMCO's line of 180-kHz frequency coded transmitters.
- VR2W Underwater Upload Cable - retrieve data from VR2W acoustic receivers without bringing them to the surface.
- VR4-UWM (Underwater Modem) - a submersible receiver capable of identifying all VEMCO coded transmitters (both 69 kHz and 180 kHz tags) and communicating remotely to a surface modem making it ideal for long-term deployments (>6 years)
- VEMCO Mobile Transceiver - The VEMCO Mobile Transceiver (VMT) is a hybrid between a 69 kHz coded transmitter and a 69 kHz monitoring receiver (similar to the VR2W-69 kHz).
- VUE Software - for initialization, configuration and data upload from VEMCO receivers allows users to combine data from multiple receivers of varying types into a single integrated database.
Tracking Receivers
- VR100 - general-purpose ultrasonic receiver designed for manual tracking of aquatic animals from small boats or for recording laboratory data.
Positioning Systems
- VPS (VR2W Positioning System) - is a low cost, non-real-time underwater acoustic fine-scale positioning system, using the same off-the-shelf equipment used in conventional VR2W-based studies.
