Ultrasonic Receivers

VEMCO manufactures a complete line of receivers to detect signals from ultrasonic pingers and transmitters.  We design and manufacture receivers that will enable the researcher to conduct automated tracking studies, carry out real time field tracking, or collect detailed positioning data. Our receiver equipment includes:

• VR2W -  submersible, single channel receiver with Bluetooth® wireless technology capable of identifying VEMCO coded transmitters.
• VR3 -  facilitates the recovery of data from the unit by providing a remote communication capability by means such as satellite, underwater modem, cell phone, underwater wired observatory, etc.
• VR28 -  provides 360 degrees of monitoring coverage so that the transmitter bearing can be determined without having to rotate a directional hydrophone.
• VR100 -  general-purpose ultrasonic receiver designed for manual tracking of aquatic animals from small boats or for recording laboratory data.
• VRAP -  measures real-time, detailed position information from underwater acoustic transmitters using a series of three buoys and a two-way radio link to a base station.
