Researchers Gather in Halifax for VEMCO Days 2008

Fifteen marine researchers and scientists from around the world gathered at VEMCO in Halifax, Nova Scotia from September 17th to the 19th to participate in the 3rd Annual VEMCO Days Workshop and Conference.

The main purpose of this event is to give users of VEMCO products the opportunity to learn more about acoustic telemetry technology and VEMCO's current and new product offerings. It also enables researchers to share information about their projects and challenges as well as offer input into the future direction of VEMCO product development.

VEMCO Days is an integral part of our R&D program which brings together VEMCO's engineering and technical staff with some of the world's leading researchers. This collaboration gives us a better understanding of our products' applications and its users, enabling us to develop the most advanced acoustic telemetry equipment available on the market today.

If you would like to take part in VEMCO Days 2009, please let us know. We do try to accommodate everyone; however, seating is very limited. Please contact VEMCO if you wish to be included on the 2009 mailing list. Or if you are interested in hosting a workshop in your area, please read on!

Taking VEMCO Days Workshops on the Road

Building on the popularity of our annual VEMCO Days Workshop and Conference, we are planning to take our VEMCO Days workshop on the road.

If you are interested in hosting a workshop at a location near you, we can custom develop a program that is specifically tailored to your group. Ideally, your workshop group should number at least 30 participants; however, if you are unable to meet this criterion, we would be happy to discuss other options.

Your workshop can range in duration from a half day to two full days or more depending on your specific requirements, although we do recommend you plan for at least one full day. Topics can run the gamut from understanding acoustic telemetry to designing arrays and studies to demonstrating products and software and interpreting data from the field.

For more information on hosting a workshop in your area, please contact VEMCO.
