A new release of VUE (VEMCO User Environment) PC software is now available. This latest version of VUE will work with Windows VISTA OS and allows users to import legacy VR2 files created with VR2PC.

VEMCO has released new firmware and software for the VR100 manual tracking receiver. This new release updates the default code maps within the VR100 so that they match with the current VEMCO world wide maps.

VEMCO will be exhibiting at the 2nd International Symposium on Tagging and Tracking Marine Fish with Electronic Devices to be held October 8-11, 2007 in San Sebastian, Spain. The meeting will focus on the use of electronic devices to track movements and behaviours of marine fishes, as well as examine present and future challenges and perspectives.

The Australian Acoustic Tagging and Monitoring System (AATAMS) is hosting a VEMCO Acoustic Telemetry Workshop November 21-23 2007 at the Sydney Institute of Marine Science (SIMS), Mosman, Sydney. The workshop, which focuses on VEMCO equipment and methodology, will bring together a wide range of acoustic telemetry users including representatives from academia, government organizations and industry.

Fifteen marine researchers and scientists from around the world converged on Halifax, Nova Scotia from August 22nd to 24th to participate in the 2nd annual VEMCO Days hosted by VEMCO Division of AMIRIX Systems Inc.The main purpose of the event was to give users of VEMCO products the opportunity to learn more about acoustic telemetry technology and VEMCO products in general.

The 4th Annual WaterLIFE Magazine Kids Cup youth redfish angling catch-and-release tournament was held on April 28, 2007 in Port Charlotte, Florida. What made this year's tournament so unique is that 20 of the fish caught by the kids were implanted with a VEMCO transmitter and released back into Charlotte Harbour.
