About the Calculator
This calculator determines the time to detect all transmitters when multiple tagged fish are within range of a receiver. See Chapter 3 of VEMCO's White Paper on Understanding the Performance of VEMCO 69 kHz Single Frequency Acoustic Telemetry, which provides an explanation of collisions, explanation of simplifying assumptions as well as summaries of performance to be expected under various conditions. Simplifying Assumptions and Impact
This calculator carries out a statistical analysis with some simplifying assumptions none of which cause material differences from results obtained by detailed simulations.

Confidence Level
Results are presented to a 95% confidence level -- i.e. time to detect of n minutes means the detection time will be n minutes or less 95 times out of 100.

Tag Type
The Calculation is based on standard R64k Tags.
